MF 175 won't raise front end loader

3 point lift works ok. Shifter valve doesn't seem to let any oil to the loader cylinders so I want to take it apart and check out how it is supposed to work. In stead of making a mess with a lot of oil I thought I'd better ask in here. Which gate A or B on my picture is the pressure outlet from the pump? I guess it must be B - right?

Not sure which is which but I'd start with but I'd start with the prints on the standpipe. Or if someone moved your lever on the control.

B is from the pump. A is to the 3 point cylinder. Do you have the position control lever in Constant Pumping when using the loader? If not when the 3 point is fully raised the internal linkage shuts the pump off, unless in constant pumping.

Thank you. Once I got the selector valve apart and saw how the slots are made it all made sense so I know now in which position the lever should be for it to work. And it does. I thought I had tried every combination but what may have tricked me is that it takes a couple of seconds for it to react.

Another issue on this tractor: The PTO shaft seal is leaking oil. Can this seal ring be replaced from behind?
It started leaking when I mowed some grass. Why is it that this so often causes this? It also happened the first time we used our 285 for mowing and the mechanic knew what we had been doing before we even told him. Is it the grass dust that grinds into the seal or is it the vibrations or what? Hmm maybe I should have done another post about this.
