65 Massey front bolster

I bought a 65 with a broken front bolster.I put one on off a 150. When I went to put the rad in the holes we're gone. Anyone ever try to drill and tap cast? I found gold paint on the front of the motor. Would this make it a Massey Harris?

drilling and tapping Cast iron is hard because of the inpurity's in cast iron and using cutting fluids makes it gum up the tap making it easy to break the tap! that said take it easy and clean out the hole and tap often and it can be done. Take your time!

When you drill it your drill should be ground like you are drilling brass so it doesn't grab. you should have new or sharp high speed steel taps.
