MF 35 Serial #

I just purchased a MF 35 Utility tractor. The Gentleman I purchased from said he has only had this tractor a few years and purchased from the original owner.

It came with the original owners manual and he stated it was a 1957. My question is the plate on the dash says “Massey Ferguson MF 35” United States. Serial # UGF655001390.
It has a Z 134 continental engine and a Mod. 200 loader serial # 7767

I believe the U is either United States or Utility? The G & F Gas and single stage clutch, but the 655001390 is no were close to and serial numbers I can reference except a model 65, which would be 1957.

The plate definitely says MF 35 and a 65 would have a 176.

Anyone know why the serial number is this high. First few 35's off the line for Massey Ferguson after Ferguson TO 35?

Can't be right. Could you post some pictures of it, maybe from different angles? Is it easy to read or faded/rusted?
There was no "U" prefix, "V" would be the closest which would indicated that it is a Vineyard tractor. G is gasoline engine, F is single stage clutch.

I wonder if someone didn't buy a new plate and just stamp some random numbers on it not really knowing. Replacement plates are available. Not sure why someone would go to all that trouble though just to do it wrong.
