Help ID MF tractor... 175? 255?

Hello,
Brand new to tractors here and decided to dive in with a fixer-upper. Before I can buy the correct manuals, I need to properly ID the tractor... which isn't going so well.

I used the serial number and some of the tractor dimensions to determine it was an MF 175. But after finding the engine"s name plate, I think I"m wrong and it might be an MF 255. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help with this.

Tractor serial number: 9A52823 (located on panel under steering wheel)

Engine name plate: Perkins Diesel AD4 203
Engine serial: 37786240

There"s another model/serial plate on the side of the frame. I think it is for the loader, but not sure. Model: 200, Serial: 1140 2146l5

See pictures. Thanks for your help!

I am pretty sure that you have a Massey 200 industrial. For sure, it is not a 175 because any 175 I have had has had a Perkins 236 engine. It is possible that it could be a 165 but it sure looks like an industrial to me.

Yup, 3165 with model 200 loader. Must have been close to end of production for 3165's as the MF30 replaced them.

Hi, it certainly appears to be an industrial version of the early MF 165. According to my info no 175 was fitted with a 203 engine. In the UK the AD4.203 engine was in use up to approximately mid 1967 and then changed to the A4.212. The 203 was used in other models later, the 158 for example. So almost certain to be a 3165.

Yep The famous 203 engine. Rev her up to about 1500 rpm and anything on the tractor that is not firmly bolted down will start 'dithering'. :)
