MF 135 PTO fix

It seems that in my frinds MF 135 PTO is leaking oil NOT from the O-ring but from the bearing (195498M1) which seems to be placed without shaft seal (1077452M1). At least I"m not seeing the shaft seal anywhere but the bearing is pointing out around the axel. Is there any ways to place new shaft seal without taking out whole axel. Should the o-ring replaced at the same time if I take the axel out?

If it is like my 150, thinking it is, it is easy to pull the PTO shaft. 1st is to drain the oil, two plugs. Then four bolts around the shaft holding the flange. Put a bolt thru the hole in the shaft (splines) for something to get a hold of. Some shafts just pull out, others need some effort. I had to wrap a small chain around shaft/bolt, attach some weight to chain a gave it a swing reward.

Yes, replace the o-ring, I think there should be a one sided sealed bearing in there. Been a while and memory does fade :)

Would also be a good time to pull the left side round cover, while the oil is drained, to check the pump intake strainer.

If I remember correctly you also need to put the PTO lever into the engaged position for engine speed operation to prevent the sliding gear from dropping into the gear casing as you pull the shaft out.
This can be seen when the left side cover is removed so it can be retrieved if it does drop.
