MF65 Brake Lever Casting Broken

drivers side casting on front of the axle was broken when I bot the tractor, brake rod goes thru a rubber boot into the axle

I have the pieces off and trying to decide to arc weld or braze it back together

are these castings cast iron or cast steel??

Strange, mine was broken as well. I bought a used one. Can't see why it would be stressed enough to break. Sorry, I can't help on the repair process.

Get yourself some cast iron arc rods, Castcraft 100 or similar, and "V" out the pieces. Bolt the pieces back in place if possible and tack weld. Then remove and finish the job from there. Some pre-heating once removed may be beneficial, but not necessary. I"ve had good success welding this type of cast and believe me....I"m no expert boilermaker.

I was worried about alignment of the 2 pieces so bolting in place to tack it makes good sense
