135 Hydraulic Troubles

When i have a implement hook to the 135, the lift either will go up or down by itself. does this more when the tractors been running for a while. i have to always keep working the draft levers to keep it where i need it. when it goes all the way up theres a knocking noise. its like there is no middle position, either it wants to go up or starts going down. I bought the tractor last october and rebuilt everything except the hydraulics over the winter.
Thanks is advance for your help

Sounds like linkage trouble, or adjustments set wrong, it should not knock in the raised position unless using the constant pumping position for an auxiliary valve. The position lever should be used to raise, lower, or hold where you want. the draft is used only for ground engaging implements. Is best explained in the operators manual.

when it does make the knocking noise when raise all the way up the tractor will be umder load. You think maybe the relief valve might not be working ???

It should be working, but you should not make it knock all the time. You may be using the wrong lever for the wrong job. Some tractors also had the pressure control hitch option, and the draft and position levers worked a bit different than tractors without it.

Um , i dont no if it has that option or not. it has no external valve blocks or hoses. but i am guilty of using the draft control lever to raise and lower the implement.

The quadrant will have the pressure control decal if the tractor has it. If it knocks with the draft clear up the position lever stop may be set wrong, and may be going into constant pumpinf mode when it should not. If using a mower the draft lever should be left up and the position lever used to control working height.

thats what it must be doing because if the draft lever is in the all the way up position it will go to constant pump and thats when it knocks. so what would be the fix for this problem.

The position lever up stop needs reset, lower the arms with the position lever about 2 inches at the ball end, then move the limit stop to contact the lever. Best to use a service manual to get it right.

General rule is implements used above ground level....use position control......below ground level use the draft control............

I have a similar problem but it started out with the lift stuttering to pick up, then developed a knock when raised. I was using a bottom plow. During the winter it got cold enough the lift didn't work and we had to drag the harrows onto a trailer to move. later in the day it started working when warmer. After that we have had the stutter and now the hard knock with the stutter

Mine did something similar and it was the oscillator drive on the pump that was loose. It would work fine for a while then act up and send the arms to the top until the tractor was shut off. it was a bear to troubleshoot.
