have a Ferguson 35 with this on the tag left of the steering wheel can someone tell me what it means Spec 16 model SGM 173790

I don't know what the "16" stands for but I assume Spec stands for the Special model. In any case, you have a 1957 Ferguson TO35 according to my records. The "S" stands for normal width (as opposed to vineyard etc). "G" reveals you have a gas tractor (a 134 I think) and "M" means you have a dual clutch.

I believe Gary is correct. My '59 is an SGM which is standard width, Continental Z134 gas engine and dual clutch.
