I recently bought a MF 202, with a stuck Z134 engine. I managed to get it unstuck with help from a 2x4 and sledge, but on the very first revolution after getting it unstuck, the piston closest to the radiator (number 1?) promptly pushed the sleeve out once it reached BDC. I tapped it back down, and it spins fine now, but I worry about running it with a loose sleeve. Any advice?

Well, I would personally rebuild the engine but that"s just me. A rebuild kit is available and probably around $500 or so bucks.

The Z134 is a wet sleeve engine so you don't have a loose sleeve, it just wasn't being held down by the head when you where turning it over. There are two O-rings at the bottom of the sleeve that normally cause a tight enough fit that the sleeve will stay in place when you turn the engine with the head removed. In your case there was probably enough resistance between the piston and sleeve given that the engine had been stuck to pop the O-rings loose. At this point, I would remove that piston end then the sleeve to check the condition of the O-rings now that they have been disturbed or you may leak coolant into your oil pan.

I just realized I have no idea what oils to put in this thing. I know the power steering is empty. I'm guessing regular 10w40 works fine for the engine. How about the dif and loader?

Thanks
Dave
