another 44 axle seal question

To replace .. remove the wheel, then the hub ( yes I got it off!), then the cap and can you help me from there???? Is the seal under the cap or is it a little more difficult than that???

Yes pull the cap off and there should be a felt dust seal first and the oil seal will be behind it. That's my weekend project.

Before you pull the cap lift up on the axle and check for slack in the bearing, there are shims behind the cap in different sizes, remove as necessary to take out slack in bearing, test fit this before you replace the seal.
