135 lift problem

I am trying to repair a friends 135 that the lift will not raise unless the draft control is in the full up position. It will raise to the top and then slowly drift down (with tractor running) to the bottom. If you lower the lift control lever and then raise it back up the arms will raise again. The fluid and filter have been changed. Does any body have any ideas on were to start looking? Thanks Dennis

Not sure what the problem is but the draft control has to be all the way up for the lift to work. Sounds like a seal is gone or something is leaking internally.

The draft lever HAS to be at the fully raised position for the position control to operate(unlike a 35/65) You say the lift drops even when the levers are both fully up?. If so then you have an internal leak....check the stack pipe 'O' rings first, then if that is ok remove the dipstick side cover after draining the oil to the bottom bolt hole level. Look up in at the back of the ram with the lift raised and see if you have any leaks....if not, then next place to check is the control valve on the back of the pump.......Let us know what you find........Sam
