Work Bull 204 Forward Clutch?

Hi, I just bought a 204 that the owner did quite a bit of work on, including rebuilding the Reverse-o-matic. But something is not right. In any reverse gear, it is very responsive. But going forward, it revs, then catches, and we can go 50 yards or so, then it lets go and I have to rev it to get it to go. The manual says the forward clutch may need adjusting, but doesn't say how. I see many similar problems on the forum for 204s that "don't go." But this one has been rebuilt. I've seen a bit about adjusting hi and lo pressure, but wouldn't that change how reverse works? (it's great now)
Thank you for any suggestions.

If I remember right there is a spool valve that shifts in each clutch. It is possible the forward one is not staying on as it should. When my forklift does it you can feel a jerk, usually a good greasing will fix it. When either forward or reverse pedal is pushed you should feel the clutch apply first, then push further for the speed you want. When you back off slightly to slow down the clutch must NOT turn off. If it does recheck all the linkage, as that is where the trouble usually is, on mine anyway!

Thanks, DieselTech. I will look at the linkage this weekend. I noticed on the linkage a chain, one link, I think, about 3/4" or 1", hooked up to the linkage spring. But that link is not being used. And the spring looks like it has a partial kink in it. How is yours adjusted? Does it have a link hanging off? As far as greasing it up, am I correct in assuming just the linkage that is exposed on the right side, from the pedals up to where it enters the housing? Or is there more?
