man said was using to blade a path cought the edge of tree and the transmission stopp working what could have happen??power lift still works starts but dont go all gears are out? how big of a deal to fix,?

I am far from a mechanic but he must have sheared something. What does it do? Does it click or anything? Make any noises on the clutch? Is there shavings in the tranny fluid? I am sure someone on here could help with some more info?? good luck!

Sounds like he has snapped the shear tube on the drive to the rear axle. No big deal to fix once the hydraulic lid is removed.

You can check and replace that sleeve through the small cover where you check the oil for the rear end. You remove a large cotter key in the sleeve. slide a stub shaft into the sleeve and remove them through the cover hole.

Here is a picture of the drive shaft sleeve looking down through the removed top cover. You can see the end of the large cotter pin that must be removed to collapse and remove the sleeve. As was said below, I have removed and replaced this shaft through the side cover, but that was one in good shape. Not sure what they are like to remove if sheared.
Another possibility is he broke an axle shaft, but they are stronger than the sleeve so less likely.
