Same oil all through these tractors......Super Universal ..Use it in the engine and the rear end. We have been using it in all our Massey tractors since 1964 with no problems..............Sam

The manual says to use straight S.A.E. mineral oil but many on this forum say to get GL-1 from Tractor Supply

There is much information/advice/debate about what to put in. I have two tractors, a 35 and a 202, the 35 being agricultural and the 202 being the industrial version of a 35. If you are in a cold climate I would highly recommend putting 10W30 engine oil in the trans/hyd/diff. It functions as well as GL1 when warm and remains a more workable viscosity when cold. I have GL1 in the 202 and it is an absolute bear to use when cold. I have 10W30 in the 35 and it seems to function the same no matter what the outside temperature is. 10W30 is also easier to find than GL1. If you do decide to go with the GL1 you can get it from Napa. Many stores will have to special order it for you but it usually doesn't take too long.
