M-1127 transmission fluid

I could buy M-1127 transmission fluid for over $100
for 5 gallons from my local MF dealer or buy Warren
premium transmission fluid from Agrisupply for $44.
The Warren oil says it meets M-1129 specs (didn't
say anything about M-1127).
Will I be foolish going with the Warren fluid?

I've used aftermarket fluid in all my tractors for years with no problems. You don't think the tractor manufacturers make oil do you? They just put their name on it. IMO

you do what you want, its your tractor,

but for $60 difference, I would only use the oil programed for this tractor,

I was at the MF dealer one day, guy came in told the service manger the transmission/hyd were working fine on his tractor,
he was preforming maintenance and wanted to change the oil, drained the transmission/hyd oil in his MF35 and replaced the oil with transmission/hyd oil he bought at the local COOP, now the lift will not work.

service manager told him to drain out that oil and replace the oil with the oil designed for this tractors lift system.

our old fergusons use the same oil for transmission lift and differential.

use the right stuff.

My experience with the cheaper hydraulic oils have not been that good. I used some that I got at an autoparts store in my MF 175. I read the label and it met Masseys M1129A spec. It foams really bad. I will not use that stuff anymore. Like everyone else I know Agco doesn't make hydraulic oil but until I can find one that is as good as Permatran, I will pay the difference and buy Permatran. Highly recomended if you have wet brakes.

I would stick with the factory oil the transmission and hydraulic oil is not changed that often. I don't think it is worth the possible trouble it could cause.
