multipower troubleshooting question

Where would you start to troubleshoot on a mf 50 that slips in high multipower after the tractor has warmed up? thanks - Morgan

Problem on this model is no place to check the pump pressure and flow without removing the lift cover. If the pump does check out OK then I would suspect burned MP clutch pack discs. Even if the pump is good, running low on oil, or worn input shaft cast seal rings will leak off the clutch pack apply oil and damage the discs.

agcopartsbooks.com (online parts book)sign in as guest,(view books) put 50 in model and Massey Ferguson for brand, scroll down to the listing for 50. The place I would start, is by checking the oil filter shown in the torque converter parts diagram. I bought a 180 that would not move at all and a similar filter was plugged causing the pump to be starved of oil. That's my best swag..
