I know nothing about this engine. Easy on gas, power, longevity??? I'm looking for a friend at a MF 135 with just over 1052 hours. What do you think of them.

OK thanks, I wondered about that. Is the rest of it like a MF 35? There's no multipower on those is there?

The Perkins 3 cylinder gasoline engine is a converted diesel and is very rugged. I once owned one and liked it. I did not consider it overly thirsty.

MF 135s were available with or without Multi Power.

1052 hours is not believable.

Would buy a 3 cylinder Perkins in a heartbeat if it sounded good, either gas or diesel. They are one of the most dependable and fuel efficient engines ever made! I wouldn't believe the 1052 hours either but if the tractor looks almost showroom condition, maybe. 135's are the most sought after acreage tractor.

I've had this one for a few years now. It was a lawn mower at a golf course since 1969. I tried to make it do other 'ag' chores, but one day I bought a 3 point lawn mower, put the turf tires back on, and you couldn't be happier.
I guess as mentioned earlier, it is like the opposite of the 1980's GM cars, a diesel converted to gasoline. So a lot of torque, but no? umph? You sometimes feel a need for a 4th cylinder. But for the lighter jobs, like the lawn mower, hey, 3 US quarts an hour is about the same as a 14 horse Briggs, so I ain't complaining in that department! Be patient with it, and you'll love it-
