What is the difference in HP for the MF 231 and the MF231S. Thank you for your response. Allen

231 Diesel, 3cyl. is 38 HP, 231S, 3cyl. is 45 HP, as per MF Tractor Data.

I do not believe that there is any difference in PTO HP.

Do not trust tractordata.com.

Well, I assumed he was asking for Engine HP, Now Tractor Data lists PTO hp for 231 at 34 hp and 231S at 42 hp. Thats a substantial difference, especially when running PTO equipment.

Sounds like the same difference between a 230 and a 245. Maybe Tractor Data got confused?

Thank you all for your inputs. I am considering at King Kutter RTG 72 rotary tiller. It has reverse tines and needs at least 40HP. Sounds like I must use my 231S and that may be pushed.

Agreed. For example, it lists the MF 590 as having 90 engine hp which is wrong, it should be 75 engine hp.
