What do you have to do to remove input shaft to replace seals on transmission.Have tractor split and clutch fork removed but housing that throw out bearing rides on not coming off.Does not have multi power.

Hello Mike

You must remove the lower bearing cover, then remove the snap ring on the lower shaft.then remove the transmission and push the lower shaft back and the gear that is holding the input housing from coming out will drop down so the housing will come out.Hope this helps.Good luck

if you do a search on the ferguson forum on input shaft seals, there are some good tips on the process, its not hard but a bit involved. have you looked at a parts blow up of the parts. first its helpful to see what your working with and there are some gaskets in there that have to be replaced at same time besides the seals. if you dont have manual you can go to agcopartsbook.com to see blow up. when you take cover off pto shaft housing you use bolts from the cover into the housing to work it off,but make sure you remove outer snap ring first. the parts diagram will help you make sense of it better.

Got transmission off, lower cover off inside bellhousing and snap ring off. Shaft will go back a lil bit but not enough for gear to drop and input shaft housing to clear it. What am I missing or do I have to remove more somewhere.

there is a second snap ring up against the bearing, i think its not the eye kind you need to work it off w/ screw drivers. then you need to remove bearing housing, it is the part that the cover bolts to, use 2 of the bolts from the cover and put them in the 2 holes not used for the cover(9 and 3oclock). tighten equally and the housing should start to slide out. dont go super crazy tightening them because you are just pushing against housing.lube bolts prior to going into those 2 holes. with that removed i believe you will see thrust washer and another snap ring that you have to remove, then the shaft can be removed. try to pull up the parts diagram so you visualize what you are working on. its been a few years since i did it and you might need some guidance going back together and dont forget to renew the paper gaskets in there, 2 down below and 1 above for housing. good luck

Got shaft out of the way but had to pull it out of the front not push back to get gear to drop and allow clearance thanks to all!
