Just rebuilt the motor actually whole tractor. Tractor did run fine before rebuild lessthe knocking noise (reason for rebuid). Rebuilt the carb also. Tractor will run 3 or 4 mins then stalls i turn the swith off wait about a min then starts right back up. I have taken the carb off and apart and checked for trash several times and nothing. I have put the carb on manifold without fuel bowl turn fuel on and it dont seem to have enough fuel coming thru neddle and seat. i have taken fuel bowl out of tank checked for any blockage nothing there either. i have checked fuel line itself no blockage. Even removed gas cap while checking thought maybe not venting. One thing i did notice when i put carb back on tractor with fuel bowl empty i turn gas valve on and gas will slowly fill up the glass bowl and i mean slowly. but if i crack the fuel line at carb it fill quickly ,seems almost like a vapor lock ..could this be possible. sorry for the long post but i am stumped..and i know someone here has a answer ,thanks in advance

Some carbs have a small hidden inlet screen, just inside the inlet pipe connection, could it be it never got cleaned out?

I have cleaned the carb to the point where i put a small wire thru every passage that i saw . One thing i did do is i removed the brass 90 with the screen that was attached to it and replace it with a regular brass 90 with a compression fitting. the reason i did this is because the guy i bought the tractor from just had a lot of tape on the fitting that didnt actually fit the brass 90 with the screen

I think your problem may be a piece of the tape is blocking your flow somewhere. That is one problem with Teflon tape. Whenever I use it I always stay 1 thread back from the end. Whenever you replace a fitting that had the tape there is almost always some trace of the tape left in the female thread. Hope this helps. I

Thanks Phil, I cleaned the carb out with small wire ,used brake cleaner, and compressed air. i have looked for any trash and cant find anything.

Well, one time I had a Farmall H that did that. Finally found that [ hate to addmit this ] I ovedid it to the point I used pipe dope on the sediment bowl threads going up into the gas tank. I had used somuch, I had it ooze out into the inlet of the bowl; had barely enough flow area. It would flow a little tiny bit, but blocked off flow for wide-open. Finally found it, removed the glob, all was well.

all i used was a little bit of thread seal tape. but i am going to take it off again today and see whats going on. i will let you no my findings ,Thanks for all yalls help

Little update on the carb issue. I took the little spring off of the needle that connects to the float, turned the gas valve on and the gas filled the glass bowl up quickly. thought i was onto something which i think i am. but the tractor still run out of gas within 2 or 3 mins of running.
