Im in the process (kind of) of building one for pulling. They used a slightly different version of this engine in old willys jeeps, ungoverned, using timing chains instead of gears (cam runs opposite direction), downdraft carb, different head design ( ebay "willys super hurricane" to buy a more efficient head that will bolt right on). They rate the exact same displacement at 115hp at 3800 rpms. Moral of the story: put the jeep head on it and rev the $hit out of it. But do put a steel flywheel on it if youre gonna rev it.
If I ever get back to working on mine and finish it, it will have a turbo tucked under the hood.
