I just bought a Massey Ferguson 1130 today, drove it home about 15 miles. Shifted great. Now the lever for the 3 speed on the dash is stuck in the middle of the shift pattern and it ses the tractor is in second gear. I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks in advance!

Remove the tin panel above the foot throttle, then you can see the shift rods. See if a pin may have come out, or a rod is bent from force. They are adjustable too for smooth crossover and full gear engagement. Also check the hi-lo and park bellcranks on either side, they may get dry, rusty and need freed up if sticking.

My 1130 has done the same thing...my brother is more mechanical that I, but he basically pulls on the shifting rods under the dash to get it to release...to minimize this...make sure u shift it slowly...make sure u get into neutral before shifting into the next gear...when I get in a hurry is when I have had this happen.

Thanks for all of the info. I took the bottom cover off above the foot throttle and the side dash panel on the side near the shifter to access the top linkages. the arm that the gear selctor is attched to has worked its way to the end of the shaft that crosses above the steering box. The arm will not slide back onto the shaft with a mallet. I dont want to break anything. What can be done to get tat back into place?
Thanks,
Wade

I"m starting to really regret buying this tractor. Straightened out all of the bent shift rods, shifted ok for a day, now it barely goes into gear. Any thoughts?
