135 Fuel guage troubles

when wiring up the fuel guage does it get its power from the oil pressure switch ?? this is a z145 4 cyl gas motor.

I looked at my 150, same engine as yours. The fuel gauge gets power from key switch on position. Other side of gauge goes to tank sender. There is a ground wire from one of the sender mounting screws to my oil pressure gauge mounting clamp, no positive voltage there. Ground can be anywhere, that's just where mine is.

BTW, my oil pressure gauge is mechanical.

Thanks buckeye, all my manuals said the same thing. i actually went and bought another fuel guage and it started working. the guage was one of the one that have a B post ,T post ,and a 12 volt positive ground post. the positive gound is not hooked up to anything , i ran battery power to the B post and the tank sender to the T post and its working fine. the other guage was also new but happen to have a internal fault.
