MH44 generator

I just bought a 1949 44 GR and it had no battery in it. I need to find out if genny in it is 6volt. There are no tags or ID numbers on it. I attached pic of what my genny looks like. If you have a 6 volt MH44 can you see if my genny is like yours. Also, were they positive or negative ground? Thanks

That looks like an original 6 volt generator, they were all positive ground.

They are real easy to convert to 12V, gotta buy a battery anyway.

that's not the original 6v gen.
looks to be a 12v gen.

you were right. The generator, and voltage regulator were 12 volt, as was the starter. I took it all to a auto electric company in Spokane, and had them see what I had. They went thru everything and it is ready to go, even got ballast resistor to protect points in distributor. I bought new wire harness from Brillmans as mine was shot. Now putting it back together
