A4300 perkins Diesel

Hello, I have an A4300 Perkins diesel in a 410 combine and thinking maybe it will fit in a 1080 tractor. Does anyone know if the bell housings will match up. Will the oil pan from the 318 match up to the A4-300
 
Bell housing will bolt up no problem. The front block bolts are not the same way though, but can be made to work. You may need the 1080 oil pan bolted to the 410 block as I don't think they will interchange.

Ok Great....! Thank you for that info. Do the two engines have the same horsepower? I know they have the same bore and stroke, so I assume they are the same. Exhaust and intake manifolds should inter-change.
 
The 410 and Super 90 used the A4.300 which is actually a 302. Has 4 1/2 inch bore and 4 3/4 inch stroke. 1080, 1085 and 540 combine used the 318 which had the same bore size but had a 5 inch stroke. Rods are the same but crank and pistons are different. Super 90 was rated 68 HP while the 1080-1085 was 80-82 hp range. I put the 318 crank in my S90 puller. Can't do it for long but have it over 200 now on the dyno, with more fuel and a turbo it gets hot REAL fast!
 
Have no pictures yet, but just think of the worst looking boneyard Super 90 you have ever seen with little to no paint and you will be close. Kinda like Dave Stangle's Solid Junk, I always liked that tractor!
 
Yes, used the original 90 pistons with the tops cut down, and the bowl reshaped like the Perkins Quadram style. Also turned the pistons slightly smaller from the oil ring groove up.
 
The hp will be pretty close in your tractor. The Super 90's were rated at about 1600 rpm @ 540 pto rpm, vs. about 2000 rpm @ 540 pto rpm in the 1080 and 1085's.
