MF 235 dies

I have a MF 235. had some work done on it. new distributor, some carb work, and some other things. its had this problem every since. (it dies). it starts O.K., runs O.K., might run 5 minutes or maybe an hour but it'll die on ya almost as if you shut the key off. seems to have spark and gas to the carb. it won't start right back up. choking does not help to keep it from dieing or the restart. leave it sit for awhile (maybe half an hour) and it will start back up but run rough for just a bit and it'll smooth out and run O.K. for awhile but will eventually die on ya again at some point. I've tried a different coil, condenser, and still the problem. weather makes no difference. I'm just stumped. Its almost like it vapor locks, but what would cause it do that when it does it in different kinds of weather. I'm just baffaled. Any idea's? HELP!

I put a cheap tractor supply key switch and it would flop to the off position and stop me cold. You'll have to break out the multimeter and see if there's voltage at the coil or put a light on it to see if it burns when on.Lots of new condensors are bad but mostly its either that or coil or wiring.Make sure the gas is getting thru by draining the bowl and watch flow for a few minutes.

I have a 165 that has did same thing for 5 years, have spent $500.00 in parts--Finally found my problem, had a little piece of plastic in gas tank that would fall into hole occasionally at fuel bowl and cover just enough that tractor would run for a while then die--runs perfect now it would idle all day ok just show up when working tractor this was gas continental engine--might be your problem
