How to make 3 digits front grill screen?

Hi,
I would like to know how peoples made front grill screens on Massey Harris tractors, like what the 3 digits have.
I have seen many 33,44,55 with those nicer screen than the original that where bolt over the front grill.

I think I can use some window screen material, or do I need something stronger?
The real question is how to keep it in place? Pictures would be helpful!

the original screen is sandwiched between two thin metal strips on the ends and the centre the same also. appears to be spot welded.

There are six (3 on each side of the grille spaced equally) metal strips about two and one half inches long that are at the end of the grille bars that the outer edge of the screen goes under. There are then 3 metal strips that go from side to side and lodge under the metal clips that hold the screen in. There is no spot welding on them.

It is called 1/8 inch hardware cloth.
