Hello to all I ma new to the forum I am splitting my massey 165 to replace the clutch.I have split tractors before not much trouble just time and patience. My question is the third special tool required for the job in the service manual figure 201I have no idea what this is for I have never done a dual clutch so not knowing what this tool is for scares me.Should I replace both seals while I am in there the real seal is leaking a bit as well as the front I am trying to keep costs down, but still doing it right.Any help on this or any tips would be greatly appreciated thnx.Just thought of this when I pulled the inspection plate off a pin fell out that was inside had a half moon head on it and what I think is the Belleville washer looks crooked and out of place.

not sure about the tool # you referred to I believe it's a tool to adjust the release finger adjustment bolts to the correct height,i've installed them without using one several times with no problems, just make sure they are adjusted level to each other once installed,as for seals if there leaking now the time to replace them, also if I make no mistake there is a freeze plug behind the flywheel that seals the camshaft I've seen them leak and not be the rear main seal, also the cork seal between rear main seal housing and oil pan can do the same,if it's hyd fluid the seals on the input shafts could be the problem ,you need a tool to replace them or risk damage to the seal,be sure to align the clutch disc correctly so input shafts go in and can be lined up with splines, guide studs make rejoining the engine easier UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE BOLTS TO DRAW THE HALVES TOGETHER serious damage will occur to the pto plate, your manual should refer to the use of three 1/4" studs used to hold pressure plate in released position during R&R, should also explain how to adjust 3 pto plate release bolts once it's installed on flywheel
