Trying to work on a 54 TO30 which was donated years ago to a tractor club I belong to. It runs but the ignition wiring is a little messy.
It has a toggle switch which just hangs and a solenoid which also just hangs from wires. Then have to connect wires to battery and different places to get it started; then of course disconnect to turn off the engine.
Still has original generator. As a matter of fact, everything else is in original condition.
Want to be able to start the tractor with the gear shift handle as it should, with an original switch and key. Seems like all the other wiring going to and from the generator, and the coil are correct and original, so no problem there.
IT IS THE WIRING from the ignition switch to the gear starting set up that is the problem.
Question: What type of ignition switch (2 prong or 3 prong) should I use??? Can anyone provide me a picture of only the ignition switch and gear shift wiring????
Am new to TO30s, so any advice or assistance will be appreciated. Thanks. David
