MF-3090. Clutch bleeds off and will not go to high range

Hi, I have two different issues which might be one in the
same. I bought this tractor a year ago and the shift lever
would not go to Hi range. It is in Low range - forward and
reverse. The clutch engaged at the bottom of the pedal, but
worked fine. This morning after three freezing days in Texas,
which is very unusual, I have no clutch. It feels like there is no
fluid in the slave cylinder. I can move hay with it as the
synchronized transmission will allow me to ease into forward
or reverse.
Any ideas on a quick fix, or am I looking at major repair bucks
in a shop that knows nothing about this model of tractor. It has
an Autotronic transmission

I have not had any experience with the 3000 series tractors but it does sound as if your clutch cylinder seals are gone. More than likely the master cylinder. This will leave you with no pedal even if the resevoir is full. The slave cylinder usually leaks externally.
On these tractors there was a mod done to the high low called an anticrash device. It was to stop operators crunching the range gears causing failure to engage. Once the mod was done these tractors were very good machines, but it did damage their reputation early on.......

I think the hi low range selection is done by an electronic switch.. They're not unknown for playing up, iirc it's on the right hand side of the transmission, by the main gear selector, check the wiring on that...

As for the clutch, the reservoir is filled from the tranny housing by the pump, so should always be full, Like Sam says, probably the slave cylinder, if you can get to the hydraulic line, maybe take it off and see if the master cylinder is sending oil under pressure to the slave... I know to bleed the brakes that the return line from the reservoirs back to the tranny needs to be clamped off (vice grips)

This is Gordo. I want to thank both of you gentlemen for your response and ideas to remedy my dolema. I did not write down my access information so this is the only was to thank you men for your advise. I will try the troubleshooting methods you suggested.

Thanks
Gordo
