hydraulics to the MF-65

I put on a front bucket couple years ago, but the only way we thought you could hook hydraulics was with a pump hook up to rear PTO. is it possible with the continental gas wide front end to hook hydraulics to the front of engine?

A front pump is possible. I think some of the 65's had a clearance issue though, between the drive shaft to the pump and the lower steering arm.

Time to check the bushings on the front end pivot point if you are using a front loader. Those bushings are very thin walled.

Eric is correct about the clearance issue on the earlier 65. It was corrected on later models by using shorter arms on top of the spindles.

I put a front pump on mine (1961) with no issues. Used a factory adapter plate that bolts to the crank pulley and accepts a threaded shaft running to your pump. The adapter plate has a rubber core that negates the need for a flex coupling that may give clearance issues. I set it up as an independent reservoir system and it works great.

Put power steering on & had to change steering arm that goes from pedistal to tie rods. Can I still change to shorter arms?

Yes you can. We got into this problem many years ago when my father bought a Superior loader with a front pump to put on our 1960 MF 65 high arch.
