Lost Oil pressure on the 333

Was blading snow the other day with my Massey Harris 333 and lost oil pressure. Had 40lbs of pressure during warm up. Checked oil and level was a little low, less than a quart, added oil started back up for 5-10 seconds, still no pressure, tried a different gauge, no luck. Checked oil level again and new oil was showing about the old oil on the dipstick. It didn't mix. Rebuilt the oil pump and installed new rod and main bearings less then 300 working hours ago on engine. Any suggestions where to start looking?
Is it possible that the pressure valve on pump is stuck open?
Thanks
Steve

I have never had a 208 apart, do they have the same pump set up as a 260?? I guess I would pull the pan and take a look, I think if it is stuck it would still have a little pressure, maybe something fell apart. Pull the pan and pump, it will show up.

If your oil did not mix after adding oil it sounds like the drive on the pump is not turning. You will have to pull the pan and check the pump.

After reading your post, I have to agree with both of you. Will definitely check that out when I drop the oil pan. It will be a little while before I do it as the shed is not heated, so will do it when temperatures get a little better.
Thanks
Steve
