removing oil pan from MF 165 diesel

I am having a problem getting the pan off on my MF 165 diesel. I followed all the directions in the IT manual and believe I have all the bolts out but the pan acts like it is still bolted tight.
Are there any hidden bolts on the pan that I have not found. I have removed the bolts under the power steering pump and the hidden bolt under the right front spacer.
What am I missing?

Hi
Did one years ago on a 165 as said could be the 2 bolts under neath at the back, seem to remember they are in a rectangular hole that gets plugged with mud and you don't see them.

You might have to loosen the front axle mounting and ease forward a few mm. The pan could be nipped tight between the front axle mounting and the rear motor/ trans housing, it is a very tight fit , for rigid strenght of the tractor skid unit.
I Had a 135 with 3 cyl in the shop like that last year. basically same design idea but 1 less cylinder.
Not sure on your skill level so will mention this anyway.
You will need a trolley jack to catch/ support the pan when it comes down, it is very heavy cast iron, and another helper would be a good idea to, so it don't damage you or the floor if it falls!.
You may find with the bolts out/ axle mounting moved forward, that it is still tight and will need the gasket seal between the oil pan and block breaking loose, without badly damaging the block or oil pan faces. Meaning don't go wild with a huge pry bar and 14lb sledge hammer between the 2 parts wink wink.

Thanks to all who offered help with my problem.
It was a hidden bolt in front of the engine near the crankcase pulley that was causing the problem. This bolt was not even mentioned in the IT manual.

Ok glad you found it pretty easy. Best thing you can do with that IT manual is put it in the wood stove on a cold day!
I used to be a fan of those books, until I had a IT John Deere book. Then got the real book. Then I found out why the job made no sense with IT. Half the relevant information I needed was not there in the IT. The hyd section in the Deere book is 4 times thicker than the whole IT!.
Do your self a favor and try find a proper Massey book online.
It will save you a lot of bother later. I think genuine manual copies can be had from a few companies. Not sure if they even have them through YT store here.
You got messed up with one simple bolt this time what else they telling you wrong!
Regards Robert
