Another question on my 65...

While tearing apart and cleaning my 65 diesel model, I discovered what looks like an open hole into the cylinder head.On the drivers end of the head of the head, in the clyinder head end cover, there is a unf bolt hole... is there supposed to something there? I dont know whats behind the cover but I wouldn't think an open hole is good. Can someone clue me in??

Temp gauge sensor?

Good morning Tony ... no the water temp probe is up by the water pump.
In the parts book it looks like possibly a lifting eye could be there but , it just shows the back side of the plate if that makes sense?
I'm hoping one of the 65 experts will chime in directly

Sorry for replying to my own post but, as an fyi... the hole is where
a lifting eye goes. The hole does not go all the way through.
