I'm looking for some information on a Massey Ferguson 90. Haven't been able to find too much info on them on the web nor do I know anyone that knows anything at all about them. This is the gas version (Continental) and has a loader. I assume (don't know for sure) it has a 3-point and also power steering but past that, I know nothing. Anybody with personal experience or knowledge about the tractor's strong and weak points, parts availability, etc would be appreciated. Supposedly in decent shape, if you know what these things sell for, that would also help. Thanks for the info .......

Hello
I dont know a lot about the continental engines or the three points, but have some knowledge on the rest of the tractor.
I have 8 of these tractors (one gas version) and a couple of wrecked ones.
Parts are getting hard to find for the multi-power (yours may not be a multi-power?). I have a large stock of parts including some of the hard to find ones.
Check to see if this tractor will steer at an idle and not moving. steering wheel should turn with no problem and you should hear a squeal when you reach the end of the strokes. This is the reief valve opening, and shows your PS pump is working well. The PS pump can be an expensive fix, and can cause other problems like the PTO clutches could be burnt out.
Check for side play in the front wheels. The bearings need to be checked periodically.
See if there is oil under the radiator by the front pivot. This may be a leaking steering seal.
Also see if the fan has some play. If it does the water pump will need re-building.
Does the PTO shaft shut off after a few seconds when it is turned off, or does it keep running continually.
See if the engine has any blowby. May need an overhaul if it does.
Check to see if there is any water in the hydraulic oil, especially if the rubber boots around the base of the gear shifts are cracked or gone.
If most of these things seem OK I wouldnt hesitate to look at buying it.
Here in Canada a good 90 can sell for 4 to 6 thousand with a loader, in good condition. Average about 3500 to 4000 without a loader.
Anything else you may like to know, my E-mail is open,
Wayne

The gas engine is a Continental 242 cubic inch. A regular Super 90 would have 3ph. The Super 90WR was a western version without 3ph. It has a diamond plate deck that goes over the rear axle housings and down over the drawbar.

Hello
I have a wrecked continental engine. Think I may have the manifold yet.
Send me an E-mail with your e-mail address and if I have one I can send you a photo.
