rarest of the massey 55's ?

have a 1946 MH model 55 gas & according to the serial numbers section on this site there would only have been 116 made for that year if they used every number. mine is ser no. 1088.
it has a slightly different grille, and the pedals are cast iron rather than steel.
may have a few other differences as well.
does this make the tractor more valuable? are they more sought after? what would it be worth complete, running good, and reasonably straight?
thanks

Sounds like you have an early model that used the 201, 202, 203 cast pedals. I have an early 44-6 that has the cast pedals and rachet throttle like the 101 models had before the steel pedals came out. Worth depends on overall running condition, and tires. Good rubber really helps anymore.

It has new front tires and the rear tires are older mismatched BF Goodrichs that are in good condition. The grill is also different in the way that the ribs on the grill are separate pieces and spot welded to the sides. The engine is painted black like early 40s models. As for the trottle, yes it is the same as my 102 senior, but yet also the same as my 1948 55. The seat is an era-correct aftermarket "joyrider".
Starts and runs very well. Recent tune up. What are they sellin for south of the border there. I thinking it should be worth 1500, maybe more since its the rare model year?
What you guys think?

I believe it is worth much more than 1500, probably twice as much, because it is very uncommon. But it will have alue only to the guy that is collecting 55' and want to have a complete collection.

Here are some pictures found on "Museum victoria" website.

I have also seen an old pictures of a 55 with an hydraulic pump and the oil reservoir just in front of the fuel tank. Your is like that?

I dont really want to sell it unless its for the right price. was really just curious about it more than anything,
located by Battleford Saskatchewan

It looks very nice!
Thanks for the pictures. Someone makes that ugly hole in that very unique front grill...

The rear fenders seems different, maybe from the 203's. Not sure that 18.4R34 will fit with those one.

I knows that's a shame about the grille isn't it? I know I'll never
find another grille as they went to the one piece style in 1947
or later in 1946. However at least the top of the grills are the
same as a newer grille so I was gonna get a bodyman to cut
the top off another grill and graft it onto this one and relocate
the add-on hydraulic oil tank.

Hi there. Greetings from Ontario. I am wondering if the tractor wrecker I went to about 15 years ago still exists. It was near North Battleford if memory serves me well.
Neil

Hi Neil.
there was two of them here. do you remeber which one? Frolek's agra parts on highway 16 west of town is still going, But Battleford Agro on hwy 29 south has shut down in 2007, all the old tractors got melted down as the wrecker is now a steel scrapyard.
i managed to save a minty massey 95 from him right before he sold out.
