MF 150 Input shaft seal trouble

I am doing the input shaft seal my 150 while its opened for the clutch. I am having trouble getting the input shaft housing out. My serial number is
9A 79537

I am not sure how that compares to the number below,(I copied a message from an earlier thread that was talking about this and mentioned something about serial numbers) but I already have the whole thing apart, and cant get the lower shaft to slide all of the way out of the driven PTO gear. It comes out more than an inch but wont come the rest of the way out.

If anyone could give me a little advice on this one I would appreciate it.
Thanks

First of all, you need to determine if the oil is engine or transmission oil.
If your tractor is a diesel, the engine oil is usually quite black in color. If the transmission is changed regularly, it is usually a couple of shades lighter. This will tell you which area of the tractor needs attention.
If the transmission input seal/s are the problem, the way of replacing them is determined by the type of transmission. If your tractor has a single stage clutch, the input housing can be removed by draining off half of the oil, then remove the four(4) housing retaining bolts, then slide the housing out, and dismantle to remove the seal.
If the tractor has a dual stage clutch, there are two variations for removal. I can only speak of the English assembled tractors, but up to serial number 307658, it was possible to remove the input housing, without splitting the tractor at the rear of the box. After ser. no. 307659, splitting will be necessary.
Reason being, up to the first serial number, it is possible to "slide" the lower shaft forwards, to allow the driven PTO gear, in the very front of the transmission, to "drop" low enough, to allow the input housing to slide out from the front of the box.
With the later variation, the lower shaft has to be removed rearwards from the transmission.
If you are unsure which type you have, simply drain off the transmission oil, remove the lower cover from the front of the transmission case, and and extract the bearing housing, after removing the first circlip. Once that housing is removed, you will see the second circlip in the lower PTO gear. If it has eyes for a pair of circlip pliers , you are in luck. Remove the circlip, and pull the shaft to the front.
If the circlip is a "snap-ring", without eyes, the shaft can only be removed from the rear.
Hope this explanation makes it a little more clear, let us know how you get on,
regards, Evan.

Did the circlip located in the PTO driven gear have eyes for a pair of internal circlip pliers, or was it a straight out snap ring?
I believe your 100 series North American built tractor will need to be separated at the rear of the transmission, to remove the lower shaft.
Unfortunately, Agco's parts website doesn't recognise the 150 tractor, so I'm unable to help you with the transmission layout.

The clip on the shaft had to be spun out. There was a small notch that I got one end started in then tapped it around until it came out. it was slightly bent like a lock washer. The shaft moves freely, but doesn't quite come out of the drive gear. by 1/4inch maybe.
Did you get my serial number? it didn't seem to compare well to the one you mentioned.
Thanks.

I have a link here to what I think is my transmission.

If that helps. I just want to be sure that I need to take the rear off before I get too it.
