Stuck clutch after transmission belt idler pulley replaced

I changed the idler pulley on a MF variable speed 12. Now, the clutch does not move at all.
The variable speed lever was moved to the most relaxed position to allow the new pulley to be installed (without the engine running). The clutch moved at that time, but not now.

This forum is more for ag sized tractors, there is a garden tractor forum in the YT tractor forum index list. I have Murrays, and finding the springs are getting as old and lose as the belts and pulleys, that might be the problem on yours too

Tnx Tony... I found my problem, which was due to
several factors, and have proceeded to slowly make the repairs..
