Mh 30 standard

I have a 1951 that I bought for low budget tractor club project. It has what I consider a lot of noise when you let clutch out even in neutral. Does that mean I need to tear into transmission/bearings? I never driven or owned MH before so don"t know if it is normal or a sign of wear.I replaced fluid in tranny/rearend already. It seems to be tight in all 5 forward and in reverse, but just has that kinda growl whine sound. Help.

Same thing happened to mine, eventually it will not shift into any gear. I'm guessing but I think it may be the clutch going out.

The massey harris rear-ends do have a whining sound to them when you are driving them.Every one i have drove has that sound.I agree with JW KS it is possible that your clutch is on its way out. There is also another three things that could be creating noise.Your release bearing, the out-put shaft support bearing or the rear-end input shaft bearing.I would check the first two bearings first.
