MF 690 hydraulic fluid in engine oil

My Massey 690 (4wd) appears to be making engine oil with hydraulic/transmission fluid. I know it is not water. Anybody run across this? How can the hydraulic fluid get into the motor? Thanks

Are you sure that it is not fuel? It is more likely to be diesel leaking past a bad seal on the lift pump or the injection pump.

If it is indeed hydraulic fluid does your tractor have a hydraulic pump that drives off of the timing gears?

It could be power steering fluid, but then you would always be topping up the power steering resevoir. As jogl says it could be a busted diaphram in the lift pump or the injector pump front seal, but first check if the tractor has a heater element in the air intake manifold, I have known plenty of them to fail and leak diesel into the engine. The rear end hydraulic fluid cannot leak into the engine.
