clutch sticking. am going to split tractor and check. how do i tell if rear main seal is leaking ?
what do most people replace seal with rope or lip ?

You can only replace the seal with what was there before. the crank is different to start with. Leaking rear engine seal usually leaves the front (next the the engine block) of the flywheel wet. Never trim the rope seal and remember to soak it in clean engine oil for 24 hrs before installing.
