mf 135 steering knees and rod

my mf 135 front axle knee bolt holes, which connect with a vertical 5/8 bolt to the radius rods have worn badly. The bolt holes are 16mm wide and 18.5mm long. Can they be drilled and rebushed or is the cast steel too hard? which means replacement.

Yes they can be drilled, the metal is not so hard. sometimes you can get away with fitting a metric bolt to tighten them up, even without drilling or just drill a metric hole and fit an oversized metric bolt.

thanks so much for your reply. I will drill and rebush them as it seems to be critical to the steering geometry. I have already done the kingpins and spindles, tierod ends, centre axle pivot, and working up the radius rods to address the play in the right hand side steering drop arm in a steering box with no outside adjustment..

thanks to all who lent me advice, basically I bushed out the loose radius rod ends with a washer and then clamped the axle bolts up as tight as I could,, and the wobble disappeared, I was able to align the front wheels,, then took her out on the road and got up to top speed with out any movement in the front end,, whilst not perfect I can reprioritise the steering box job.
