I need to change my MF 50 tractor hydraulic oil. My 3 point is slow to raise and jerky. I checked the fluid and its very milky

not sure where to drain the oil and what oil to use
just got the tractor today
thanks

Look beneath the left hand foot plate and you will see two drain bungs one on the side of the transmission housing and one on the gear box housing, it is all the one oil. Drain both bungs. Refill through the large bung to the left of the gear levers. Use 15W30 or 15W40 oil. Super Universal oil. No matter what any-one tells you!
Massey Ferguson recommends this oil in the UK......I have been using it in my tractors doing heavy custom work for 40 years now, One tractor has 30,000 plus hours and no problems with the rear end except for having to rebuild the IPTO about 3 years ago....no crime there as this tractor drove a chopper for ten years....It actually had to get a new power shaft once as the outer part was so worn it was starting to lockup on the implement shafts!

Forgot to say, check inside the pto lever inspection plate to see if the filter is clean. The filter is inside the round cannister next to the inspection hole in this photo...undo the tying wire and unscrew the cannister to remove.
