Massey Harris 44 oil filter

I know this topic has come up numerous times. The last canister type filters i bought for these old massey tractors was nearly 40 dollars. After much research of this oil system and other similar applications i came up with a Wix spin on bypass set up. 51050 filter and a 24755 base. This is used on willys jeeps and clark forklifts with similar continental motors. It doesn't look original but will save money and a mess. Hope this helps someone out there.

I have a 44 and a 30 with that exact set up, used it for years and it works good. When NAPA or Wix discontinued the 1090 filter I went through the book and found one of comparable size, it's the 1092, have been using them, there still only about 4 bucks at NAPA. Changed oil in my baling tractor today(333 with a 44-6 engine) and used a 1092 while waiting for the hay to dry.

This is what I did

Did the same exact thing to my MF35... No regrets... Not really worried about keep it 'original'... The dang thing is too busy working to worry about it...

That is very similar to what I did. I used an Amsoil billet aluminum base and filter. I'd show you but I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet!
