MF 165 Stabilizer Pins

Hi, I have a dilemma with trying to get out the stabilizer pins on the lift arms on my MF 165. I am trying to remove the pins where I can change the category 1 lift arm ends to category 2. I ended up having to cut off the bolt on one of the pins and I soaked them real good in pb blaster. I am able to turn the pin but it will not come out after tapping on it real hard. It is free of burrs, I just don't see what could be holding it. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Josh,
Do you have at least one axle housing removed yet? The pins are retained by a nut on the inside of the axle casing. This nut pulls the pins into a taper in the axle housing.
With one axle housing removed you can access that one and should be able to reach the other with a long socket extension and long bar to drive it out.

The wrist action arm ends have a bushing inside the arm bore that the pin goes through. They can be rusty so the pin comes out hard. Bushing ends may be swelled too. You may need to use a press to get the pins out.

This is what I call 'a 3 day job for a 3 dollar part'. Yours isn't broke, just loose? So the cost of 'double nutting' it. 35 cents? Still an all day project...

Actually does aren't the pins I'm trying to get out. The ones I'm trying to get out are the small stabilizer pins on the side of the lift arms ends that the stabilizer bars connect to. I'm just trying to swap the category 1 ends out with category 2 ends.

That's what I thought, implement arm ends. They can be a bear to get out sometimes. Aftermarket used to have ends that had both cat 1 and cat 2 sizes in the same ball, not sure if they are still available though.
