i recently aquired a woodsplitter that i would like to run off my 35 massey. This tractor does not have a set of remote hydraulic fittings. where would i tap into this tractor for a pressure and a return? thanks, i am handy just looking for some advice

Under the right front corner of the seat there is a plate on the top of the transmission. You can replace that plate with a valve that will switch the hydraulics from the 3-point to your auxiliary "what-have-you"... First drawback, you can't use both the 3-point [b:5c30df048d]AND[/b:5c30df048d] the auxiliary hydraulics at the same time.

Second drawback: You will not be satisfied with the very slow cycle time using the tractor pump.

A much better solution is a properly sized PTO driven pump.

Dean is correct you will not be be happy with running off you lift pump, . The valve you are considering is a ts300. Your lift pump is 5gpm and on a splitter cylinder is gonna be at least 4 or 5 in diameter. useing an axe will be quicker. When I worked on caterpillers I spent allot of time at the scrap yard and aquired me a 30gpm pump eaton through out. made an adapter to connect to the pto , made a side cover to suck oil out of the diff. worked great. ooh got the 5in dim, cyl for free also, it only cost the price of the hoses...

My Deutz 4506 has remotes setup that way, the
tractor had a loader on it when I got it, Using
those remotes, it was painfully slow, I removed the
loader from the tractor as it was useless to me. I
agree, lift pump hydraulics are SLOW if using
something with high volume flow. Either a PTO pump
or a front pump would be recommended.
