Where to buy a radiator and water pump for a 35

I am looking at the options and am not sure what to do. I have a '63 35 Z134 gas engine that has multiple repairs on the tubes and is fairly plugged. Has been this way since I got the tractor and I would like to replace it. I have looked at radiators on ebay for $185 or so, all the way up to NAPA for $340. I am wondering how much difference there is in quality among these various products or if they are likely to be made at the same factory anyway. Any advice wil be much appreciated. I could take the one I have to a radiator shop but they are 40-50 miles away so I am not inclined to do that.

You are looking at 186830M91 aren't you? Unless you get one from Massey which will probably be of better quality,the aftermarket ones are going to be pretty much made the same with more than likely only one supplier for all of them. If your trying to save money get the one from eBay pay thru PayPal so if it doesn't fit or its just junk in general you can get your money back.

I have had really good luck with the parts available here on the site. I have not ordered a radiator from them but have been pleased with the quality of what I did order. Aaron

I strongly recommend having your OEM radiator recored rather than buying an aftermarket radiator.

Your local NAPA store should be able to order a water pump for you.

on my 35's there is a short bar that goes from the radiator to the top of the water pump housing. (I think)

if you order a new rad. be sure the bracket on the rad. is on the side of top rad. hose connection. some rad.'s have the bar bracket on the top of the rad.

I got my water pump at MF dealer, not a job I want to do again for a long time, so I got the best pump I could.

but an issue is the fan pulley, on my to-35 it had to be pressed off the old water pump and pressed onto the new water pump.

not a project for anyone with a vice and a big hammer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the guys in the tool and die shop at my plant did it for me.

you must measure the distance the pulley is to be pressed back on, so the pulley will line up proper when you reinstall the pump.

the MF dealer sales clerk told me not to worry as she had a extra pulley in stock, as many times the pulley bust when being taken off/on so use care.

my radiator repair shop told me he would fix my radiator as it was of much better quality than anything he could order for me.

just a heads up:
note: those special mounting brackets at the top and bottom of the old radiator, be sure to get a radiator with those brackets or you will have to have yours taken off an reinstalled onto your new radiator,

so, do not turn in your old radiator until you are up and running!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had good luck with aftermarket parts from R.F. Engine out of Michigan for radiators and engine parts on tractors and construction equipment. Reliable aftermarket Parts on ebay has decent quality stuff as well, but on my last purchase i noticed that they're getting cheaper on their paint.

I should have added that if your shopping aftermarket you should check Sparex. Sparex is owned by Agco and all the parts that I have used from them have been of better quality than the same pieces from Tisco or other aftermarket suppliers.If you can afford it I would go with a radiator from Massey, but I realize times are hard and sometimes you have to get what you can afford.
