Ok thanks for the reply. I took it to the authorized MF AGCO dealer, and i have heard that the guy that worked on it is good with older Masseys.....
pretty much When i took it in i thought that the either that filter was clogged or the pump was bad. I pulled the lift cover planning to change the filter but it is one of those that you have to split to get to the filter... so i decided, being that i had hay that needed to be made and i was in a bit of a hurry, that i would just trailer it down to the dealer and get them to fix it quick... well that didnt happen... it was in the shop 2 weeks! They replaced the filter and some o rings on the stand pipe, but they didnt have to replace the main pump. They said the problem was that 3 of the 4 bolts that hold the pump together were sheered of and it was losing pressure there, but the pump was ok. they just replaced those bolts. (expensive bolts i guess!) anyway when i picked it up the service guy told me the price ball park would be approx 2500 i haven gotten the actual bill. but i will post the cost break down when i get it. One thing they did is replaced the aux pump that runs the IPTO cause it was in poor condition. but that was only 800....
anyways i'll get back with the exact cost breakdown.

Hi Dwayne, The time required to carry out the pump replacement even with splitting the tractor should be little more than a day's work, even with basis equipment. I have spoken with a friend who worked in the Service Dept at MF in the UK and he agrees that the problem of slow lift is likely to be bad adjustment of the internal linkage. He advises that you contact this MF agent and get them to sort it out. Meanwhile we await any more info you can give us on the account and what was done. Regards DavidP
