THE STEERING of my mf 4235 becomes stiff after 1 hour work . the hydrolics slow down also. how can it be solved. it seems to be starved of oil

may not be your problem but one of the newer mf models had a problem with the rubber section of the suction line collapsing causing the pump to cavitate

Hi Matt,
I'd be checking the suction screen on the intake side of the dual element auxillary pump.
If your tractor is a power-shuttle model after ser. no. L37030, there may also be a micronic strainer that needs cleaning as well.
There is also a second suction strainer for the lift hydraulics, located on the underside of the centre housing. Drain all of your transmission oil before removing the access plate.
If this fails to improve the steering at least, I'd be flow testing the steering side of your tandem auxillary hydraulic pump.
How many hours are on the clock? Has it been regularly serviced in it's lifetime?
Let us know,
Evan.

Hi Evan,
Thanks for information.
can suction screen for auxillary pump be cleaned without draining oil

Thanks again
Matt
