Massey Harris 30 rear tires

I have resently bought at an estate sale a 1951 massey harris 30 row crop. And I am going over and going to bring it back to life. My question is what was the options for rear tire sizes in 1951. It has on it now 11.2X34 rear tires and rims on it. I have never seen that size tire on any other tractor of the same year. Is their any one that can shed any light on this for me. I want it to be right. And by the way the 11.2X34 ar factory rims not something a farmer has made.

Thanks for all your help ahead of time.

The 11.2x34s are off of a massey 22 would be my guess. The 30 normally has 38s on it. Based on what I have for info, a 10x38 was original factory.

btw if you are in or around Illinois I would be interested in the 34s

My Dad and an Uncle had 1947or 1948 30's they both had 10x38's on them. My Dad bought a 1952 30 in 1956 with the original Firestone's on it, they were 11x38, modern size 12.4x38. I bought an all original 1952 30 back in the 70's, It had 11x38 Firestone's on it. I still have and use all three of these, they all have 9 inch(inside bead to bead) wheels on them. I would say on a 1950, take your pick, by modern size use either 11.2x38 or 12.4x38, both fit on the 9x38 rims.

My 1951 30 row crop massey has 11.2X38 on it but have seen them with 12.4X38 also!!! Dont believe 34s were standard!

I bought a parts tractor a few years back that had 34 s on it. It s too bad the tractor was is such disrepair, that it wasn t fixable.

The books I have on the massey model 30 show the row-crop was built with 10/38 or 11/38 rear wheels the front wheels are 5.00/15.The standard model 30 used 11/28 rear tires and 5.00/15 front tires.Someone has put them tires and rims on.They are from a different model and make of machine.
